Bryant Park
Revitalization of a park in New York into a safer, greener, more inclusive, and sustainable space for the community.
Bryant Park, an urban oasis in the heart of Manhattan, has become a beloved refuge with its floral displays and rich cultural programming. However, beneath this facade lies a history of social exclusion.
This project examines Bryant Park's past, present, and future, with a particular focus on homelessness and pollinator ecosystems. The goal was to reimagine urban parks to make them more equitable, inclusive, and beneficial for city residents.
We designed a library that includes a shelter and a plant nursery, introducing over thirty new species to create a sanctuary for bees, butterflies, and beetles.
